Moreno Makes LLC — Limited Craftsmanship Warranty
1. Overview
Moreno Makes provides a Limited Craftsmanship Warranty covering the structural integrity of furniture manufactured by Moreno Makes LLC.
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser. It is non-transferable and does not pass to any subsequent owner upon resale or gifting of the product.
2. Warranty Duration
Lifetime Structural Warranty
Applies to all furniture builds that do not contain mechanical hardware. If your piece has no drawer slides, hinges, lift systems, or other moving hardware components, it is covered for structural integrity for the lifetime of the original purchaser.
Five Year Structural Warranty
Applies to furniture builds that contain mechanical hardware. Mechanical hardware includes but is not limited to drawer slides, hinges, soft-close mechanisms, lift systems, and adjustable mechanical components. The structural warranty on these builds and all hardware components within them is covered for five years from the date of delivery.
3. What This Warranty Covers
This warranty covers failures resulting from defects in craftsmanship under normal residential or commercial indoor use.
Covered failures include:
- Joinery separation resulting from improper construction
- Glue failure under normal environmental conditions
- Structural instability caused by improper build methods
- Frame failure not caused by misuse, abuse, or neglect
- Hardware malfunction within the five year hardware coverage window
If a qualifying failure occurs within the applicable coverage period, Moreno Makes will, at its sole discretion, repair the product, replace the affected component, or replace the entire product if repair is not feasible.
All determinations regarding coverage, repair, and replacement are made solely by Moreno Makes following inspection.
4. What This Warranty Does Not Cover
This warranty does not cover the following:
- Normal wear and tear resulting from everyday use
- Surface scratches, dents, or cosmetic damage accumulated through use
- Finish degradation caused by improper cleaning products or methods
- Water damage or damage caused by standing liquid exposure
- Damage resulting from extreme humidity or prolonged dryness
- Exposure to direct heat sources including but not limited to heating vents, fireplaces, and direct sunlight over extended periods
- Use of indoor-rated furniture in outdoor environments
- Modifications, repairs, or refinishing performed by any party other than Moreno Makes
- Damage resulting from improper storage or transport by the customer
- Structural movement caused by environmental neglect
- Damage resulting from abuse, misuse, or accidental impact
Outdoor use of any product rated for indoor use automatically voids all warranty coverage. No exceptions.
5. Natural Wood Disclaimer
Wood is a living material. Every piece of solid wood furniture contains natural variation in grain pattern, color tone, texture, and character. These are not defects. They are the nature of the material.
Minor seasonal movement — expansion and contraction in response to changes in humidity and temperature — is normal and expected in all solid wood furniture. Moreno Makes takes every reasonable precaution to limit excessive movement through proper acclimation and construction techniques. However, minor movement, tonal shifts over time, and natural variation across the surface of any piece are characteristics of solid wood and are not covered under this warranty.
If you are looking for a product with zero variation and complete immobility, solid wood furniture is not the right material for your needs.
6. Care Requirement
This warranty remains valid only when the customer follows the care guidelines provided at delivery.
Use of the following products on finished surfaces may compromise the finish and void warranty coverage related to finish degradation:
- Ammonia-based cleaners
- Bleach or bleach-containing products
- Solvents or alcohol-based cleaners
- Abrasive pads or scrubbing tools
Customers are strongly encouraged to follow the care pamphlet provided at the time of delivery. If you have questions about appropriate cleaning products for your piece, contact us before using anything you are unsure about.
7. How to File a Warranty Claim
To initiate a warranty claim, the following steps are required:
Step 1 — Contact Moreno Makes in writing by email. Verbal claims are not accepted.
Step 2 — Provide clear photographs of the issue, including close-up images of the affected area and full-piece images showing context.
Step 3 — Moreno Makes will review the submitted documentation and may request an in-person inspection before a determination is made.
If the claim is approved:
- A repair will be scheduled at a mutually agreed upon time
- If replacement of a component or the full piece is required, a timeline will be communicated in writing
- Freight costs associated with warranty service, if applicable, will be determined on a case by case basis
Claims must be filed within the applicable warranty coverage period. Claims submitted after the coverage period has expired will not be honored.
8. Limitation of Liability
This warranty covers repair or replacement of the product only.
Moreno Makes LLC is not responsible for and expressly disclaims liability for the following:
- Indirect or incidental damages of any kind
- Consequential damages arising from product failure
- Loss of use during repair or replacement periods
- Emotional distress claims
- Third party labor costs incurred by the customer
- Any damages exceeding the original retail value of the product
Liability under this warranty is limited strictly to the retail value of the product at the time of original purchase.
9. Commercial Use
This warranty applies under normal indoor residential and commercial use. Heavy commercial environments involving conditions beyond reasonable use — including but not limited to rental properties, high-traffic public spaces, or industrial settings — may affect coverage. Outdoor use of any indoor-rated product voids all warranty coverage without exception.
10. Modifications & Third Party Work
Any modification, repair, refinishing, or structural alteration performed by any party other than Moreno Makes voids all warranty coverage on the affected areas of the product. Moreno Makes cannot warrant the integrity of work it did not perform.
11. Transferability
This warranty is non-transferable. Coverage applies solely to the original purchaser and is void upon resale, transfer, or gifting of the product to any other party.
12. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a warranty dispute, the following process applies:
Step 1 — Informal Resolution. Both parties agree to make a good faith effort to resolve the issue directly before pursuing further action.
Step 2 — Mediation. If informal resolution fails, both parties agree to mandatory mediation before any legal action is initiated.
Step 3 — Legal Escalation. Litigation is permitted only if mediation is unsuccessful. All legal matters are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and subject to Texas jurisdiction.
13. Final Note
Moreno Makes builds furniture intended to last. This warranty exists because we stand behind the work. It also exists to be honest about what solid wood furniture is, what it isn't, and what reasonable ownership looks like.
If something goes wrong that falls within this coverage, we will make it right.
If you have questions about your specific piece or situation before filing a formal claim, reach out. We'd rather talk it through first.
