Who We Are

MORENO MAKES is a small wood furniture company based in San Angelo, Texas. Every piece that leaves this shop is designed with structural integrity first, built by hand, and finished with care.

There is no warehouse full of identical pieces waiting to ship.

What exists here is a structured production process — one build at a time — where every decision from material selection to final finish coat is made with intention.

Why I Started This

I got tired of trying to find what I wanted to do with my life — as does everyone.

So I made a decision that I would rather try now than spend the rest of my life saying I wish I would have.

The thing I love about woodworking is how adaptable it is. I appreciate knowing that you can take away but you cannot add more wood, which means the end result you picture in your mind must be calculated before the first cut is ever made.

With a few basic tools you can create a beautiful piece out of what was once alive — something that provided beauty, life, and structure to everything around it.

Apart from the cliché explanation, it allows me to have some sense of control in an unstable world. It grants the ability to be both frustrated and calm, because I know that at the end of the day I am working toward something.

How We Build

Every piece starts with material selection. Boards are inspected for structural integrity before anything is cut. Lumber is acclimated to the shop environment before a single measurement is made.

From there, every build moves through a defined process — rough cut, glue-up, true sizing, joinery, sanding, finish, assembly, and quality control. No phase is skipped. No grit is jumped. No coat is rushed.

The sanding sequence runs 120 through 220. Tabletops receive six coats of finish. Every piece passes a structural stability test, a surface inspection under direct light, and an edge check before it is cleared for delivery.

If something doesn't meet the standard, it doesn't leave the shop.

What We Build

The Floating Collection is the foundational product line at Moreno Makes — a structured series of solid wood furniture defined by clean proportions, distinct leg geometry, and consistent material discipline. We are very excited to introduce more collections in the future.

Each piece is available in select pine or hardwood species, with finish options selected to honor the material rather than hide it.

Custom work is available for projects that fall outside the standard line. Custom builds move through a formal inquiry and agreement process. Details are on the Custom page.
